While CHF 8 million are designated for the Youth Olympic Games in Lausanne (2020), CHF 6 million are supposed to be spent on the remodelling of Lausanne HC's Patinoire de Malley. In addition, the Federal Council wants to support the IIHF World Championships in Lausanne and Zürich (2020) with CHF 0.5 million, and the Winter Universiade in Central Switzerland (2021) with a total of CHF 11 million.

Today, the National Council approved these credits. With 142 "Yes" against 35 "No" votes it even decided to increase the amount of money for the Winter Universiade to CHF 14 million, which will also affect the funding of HC Ambrì-Piotta's arena project. After the National Council (Grand Chamber), it is now the Council of States' turn (Small Chamber) to approve this as well as the other credits.
