As Johan Svensson (Expressen) writes in his blog, the 30-year-old Ahnelöv aimed at continuing his career in the KHL or the National League when his contract in Omsk came to an end. Now, also the Swedish Hockey League is an option. "I've talked to some Swedish clubs lately, that's right," Ahnelöv's agent confirms to Svensson without mentioning any details.

That Ahnelöv could be interested in playing in Switzerland is no surprise. Three years ago, when he left the SHL's MODO Hockey, there were already reports that the Swedish international would like to play in the National League.

Eventually, he ended up in the KHL, signing with Avangard Omsk. For them, he appeared in 159 games, in which he recorded 35 points (twelve goals).
