As Mark Streit says in an Interview with the Schweizerische Depeschen Agentur (SDA), he will not return to Switzerland and wants thus to play another year in the NHL.

"I would like to play at least another season," Streit says in the interview. However, a return to a National League A club is not an option. "The game in North America fits me more than in Switzerland on the big ice rinks." Where Streit will hit the ice as of the upcoming season is not yet clear. "I need a break as soon as the playoffs are over and then we will see what options I have."

The 39-year-old defender is going through a rough time as he finds himself scratched for most of the Stanley Cup games with the Pittsburgh Penguins this year. Therefore, there have been some rumors about a possible return to a Swiss team.

Since he was traded to the Penguins, the defender has appeared in 22 games for them and was able to put up eight points (one goal and seven assists).
