Staiger had been part of EHC Kloten's organization until the 2009-10 season when he left in direction of Winterthur. However, Kloten was able to follow his development as EHC Winterthur had been their partner team.
The forward appeared in 22 games for the Lions this season, recording five goals and three assists.
