"Beat Forster is one of the most complete defenders in the NLA," EHC Biel's team manager Martin Steinegger explains the transfer coup. "He is versatile and with his presence in our team, he will be an important sporting component for the future."

Actually, Forster's contract with HC Davos would have been valid until 2019. According to the Südostschweiz, however, the said four-year contract included an out clause of which the club finally made use.

Why Biel? "On the one hand, due to family reasons, since the Seeland is well-suited for family life," the 34-year-old tells the Südostschweiz. "On the other hand, due to sporting reasons. You can also see it this season that it gets better and better in Biel and that EHC Biel is a good club. It will be a new challenge for me."

Since he left the ZSC Lions during the 2008-09 season, Forster suited up in 412 games for Davos (200 points) and celebrated the Swiss Championship twice in 2011 and 2015. This term thus far, he has appeared in 42 games, scoring three goals and 23 assists.
