Leuenberger had already been brought up in connection with the U20 team in January, but had then said to the Neue Zürcher Zeitung that he had been contacted but never was concretely interested in the position and never applied for it. As for the former team manager, who stepped down to give his brother the opportunity to become SC Bern's head coach after the firing of Guy Boucher, his future is not yet clear.
