According to the PIKES press release, the 23-year-old forward already decided a while ago that if he were to turn his back on professional hockey, he would return to the PIKES. He will now also focus on his studies at the University of St. Gallen.
Vogel had been with the Lakers since 2012. While he was under contract with the Lakers this season, he only suited up for HC Thurgau this year, recording two goals and six assists in 46 games for them.
