Tough news for HC Davos and their veteran defenseman: After Félicien Du Bois fought his way back from an injury to his Achilles tendon, he suffers a season-ending wrist-injury. As a consequence, also the professional career of the 37-year-old has come to an abrupt end last night.

Du Bois already announced back in November that he is going to retire at the end of the current season - in spite of the Covid-19 pandemic: "I've never dreamed of a picture-perfect ending to my career," the defenseman said in an interview with Blick. It certainly was not: He only got to play in four games in his final season.

Félicien Du Bois made his debut in Switzerland's top league in the 2002-2003 season with HC Ambrì-Piotta. He then went on to play a total of 819 games for Ambrì, Kloten, and Davos. He won the Swiss championship with HC Davos in 2015.
