The 25-year-old Finn has agreed to a two-year deal with the KHL team.

It will the first time in his career that the forward will suit up for a Finnish team other than Tappara. Henrik Haapala is a product of Tappara Tampere and, until his move to North America, only ever played for them.

The forward joined HC Lugano at the beginning of October. Haapala was still under an entry-level deal with the Florida Panthers and thus played on loan from the NHL team for the Bianconeri. In 24 games for them, he recorded four goals and 16 assists.
