When asked by Watson's Klaus Zaugg about Bürgler and if he could be an option to SC Bern for next season, the club's newly hired Chief Sports Officer Raeto Raffainer explained that due to financial reasons and the fact that "he is staying in the Ticino anyway", the 33-year-old forward would not be of interest to them.
Will Bürgler extend his contract at the shores of lake Lugano or continue his career elsewhere, for example in the Sopraceneri with HC Ambrì-Piotta? As the player's agent tells Zaugg, an extension with HC Lugano is not certain yet and a move to the Biancoblù not excluded. Howsoever, he adds that they currently are in negotiations with "different clubs" and the future would still be open.
The right winger is currently in his fifth straight season with Bianconeri. In a total of 48 games for them this season so far, Bürgler has managed to put up 17 goals and eleven assists for 28 points.
