Swiss League

HCV Martigny announced that they would play in the MyHockey League next season. The future of the Bellinzona Rocktes is also unclear. What about EHC Olten?

The Mice were eliminated from the playoffs last night and afterwards, Marc Thommen, president of EHC Olten, revealed to Klaus Zaugg (Watson) that he would discuss the future of the club at the next Board meeting: "We will discuss voluntary relegation to the MyHockey League at the next meeting of the Board of Directors."

The Swiss League teams have been in serious financial trouble since the reorganization of the leagues. Thommen has suggested a solution for a more competitive championship: combine the Swiss League, the best teams in the MyHockey League and the U20 championship and place them in regional groups.

"But nothing is moving. Everything remains as it is and under these conditions, it no longer makes sense for us to stay in the Swiss League. The economic basis is missing," Marc Thommen tells Zaugg.
