Come spring, the contract of Daniel Winnik with Genève-Servette HC will run out. Asked by the Tribune de Genève about his intentions for the future, Winnik confirmed that he feels good and wants to keep playing. However, he might have to leave GSHC, the club he joined in 2018.

"I've sometimes asked myself the following question: could I imagine myself playing for another club? And I probably will. I'll probably have to find a new club to play for from next season onwards" states the soon-to-be 39-year-old.

This season, Winnik suited up in only 29 games due to a knee injury, collecting eleven points. On average, he spends 17:31 minutes on the ice per game, 2:05 of which in the box play, making him the most-used forward by head coach Jan Cadieux in the penalty kill.
