National League

NLA - Christian Dubé was not the only HC Fribourg-Gottéron player to retire last night. While the circumstances differ, the captain of the Dragons, Sandy Jeannin, also put an official end to his professional hockey career.

The 39-year-old forward has not played in a professional game since January 2014 due to concussion issues. While he is feeling better, playing hockey is just not in the cards anymore, as he tells Radio Fribourg. But what exactly he will do after his playing days, is not yet clear.

Jeannin has appeared in 898 games in the National League A, scoring 202 goals and 430 assists for the ZSC Lions, HC Davos, HC Lugano and Gottéron. He won two championship titles with the Bianconeri and was also a fixture in the Swiss national team for more than a decade, playing in three Olympic tournaments for Switzerland (2002, 2006, 2010).
