With 15 goals, Guillaume Asselin is currently HC Ajoie's best goalscorer. This, however, might not be enough to earn a new contract. According to Le Matin, the club is looking to complement their roster with an import-defender and another center rather than a winger.
"I don't have the most attractive profile for an organization of this level," Asselin says to Le Matin about his future. "But I'm proving that I'm a striker." A future in Ajoie would be his preferred solution: "I would be more than happy to continue my adventure here," he says.
This season, his second with HC Ajoie, the 30-year-old has appeared in 36 of the 44 games so far. In addition to his 15 goals, he also added 13 assists.
