With assistant coach Anders Olsson leaving them for a job as head coach in Norway, EHC Biel has to hire a replacement: a candidate is reportedly the current head coach of SC Bern, Mario Kogler. Kogler took over the responsibility of the team in December when Don Nachbaur stepped down from his position. With the Bears, the Austrian has won the last edition of the Swiss Ice Hockey Cup.
At the end of the season, as already reported by the same source back in February, Kogler will leave his current place to Johan Lundskog, meaning that he will have to look for a new job. A possibility surfaced in March is to return coaching the U20 team of SC Bern but not without an out-clause in the contract if there would be an opportunity to coach on a higher level, as it could be the case with EHC Biel.
