Lausanne HC's new head coach Craig MacTavish is probably most known for his ties to the Edmonton Oilers. He served as their head coach from 2000 to 2009 and again as their GM and as their VP of Hockey Operations from 2012 to 2019.
The Canadian was serving as Lokomotov Yaroslavl's head coach this season but was fired after only eight games and a 3-5 losing record.
