SC Bern's Canadian defenseman Maxim Noreau wants to decide before the Olympics if he wants to stay in Bern. His departure, however, seems likely.

Maxim Noreau's contract is running out at the end of the season, but SC Bern is in no hurry to sign import-players for the upcoming season. "We have no pressure when it comes to imports," SCB's team manager Alex Chatelain says to the Berner Zeitung. "We will take our time." Noreau, on the other hand, wants to make a final decision before the Olympics - with or without SC Bern.

There is another deal breaker for the 30-year-old defenseman: "I won't sign if SC Bern is again planning to sign five import-players," he says to the same source. Nevertheless, Noreau would like to stay: "It would be my top priority to stay in Bern - I love it here." Otherwise there are two options: Stay in Switzerland or move to the KHL.
