Two players have not made the cut: Tim Dubois (SC Bern) and Johnny Kneubühler (Lausanne HC) will both head back home. Thus, SCB's talent Nico Hischier will make his first trip to the World Junior Championship at just 16 years of age.

Kevin Fiala, on the other hand, has turned down a participation with the Swiss team to concentrate on his task with the Nashville Predators' AHL-affiliate, the Milwaukee Admirals, as his focus is on North America at the moment. As the Federation informs, they have taken notice of this decision, but are not pleased. (lcu)

The final roster is as follows:

Netminders (3): Gauthier Descloux (Genève-Servette HC), Joren Van Pottelberghe (Linköpings Hockey Club/SWE), Ludovic Waeber (HC Fribourg Gottéron).

Defensemen (7): Marco Forrer (EV Zug), Andrea Glauser (HC Fribourg Gottéron), Edson Harlacher (Kloten Flyers), Fabian Heldner (HC Davos), Roger Karrer (GCK Lions), Simon Kindschi (HC Davos), Jonas Siegenthaler (ZSC Lions).

Forwards: (13): Chris Egli (HC Davos), Nico Hischier (SC Bern), Auguste Impose (Quebec Remparts/QMJHL), Tino Kessler (HC Davos), Denis Malgin (ZSC Lions), Timo Meier (Halifax Mooseheads/QMJHL), Dario Meyer (Edmonton Oil Kings / WHL), Julien Privet (SC Bern), Damien Riat (Servette-Genève HC), Noah Rod (Servette-Genève HC), Kris Schmidli (GCK Lions), Pius Suter (ZSC Lions), Calvin Thürkauf (Kelowna Rockets / WHL).
