The defenseman Spang has already played for two teams during the current season: Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod in the KHL (eleven games, three assists) and HC Kometa Brno in the Czech league, where he appeared in eight games (two assists).

Ryan Glenn, on the other hand, currently plays for HC Sparta Praha in the Czech league and has scored three assists in 14 games for them. The defenseman already knows Spang, as they played together for Finnish team Kärpät in the last season. (mso)

UPDATE Despite other reports this evening, Johan Backlund will likely not be HC Lugano's third addition to their Spenlger Cup team. As Marco Maffioletti (La Regione) writes on Twitter, the 34-year-old goaltender has not received the green light from his current club and will thus not join HC Lugano.
