The 27-year-old Marc Welti (photo), who appeared in 50 games for Langenthal last season and only scored two points, indicated that he was never really able to fully recover from a major knee injury which he suffered during the 2012-13 season.
Marc Schefer, on the other hand, is struggling with hip and back problems and only completed a total of five games last year (5 points). SC Langenthal therefore decided to not extend the expiring contract of the 34-year-old.
According to CEO Gian Kämpf, the club is now going to screen the market in order to find a replacement for Welti. "Basically, we are looking for a young player to complete our roster," he said. Moreover, there would also be the possibility to fill the gap with a B-license. (rlu)
