Swiss League

The Swiss League team's goal will not be easy to reach, especially since a lot of things regarding the upcoming season are still up in the air.

"The goal is to increase the budget for the coming season by 10 or 15 percent, if possible a little more," Rolf Löhrer, president of the board of directors, tells Der Landbote.

This season, EHC Winterthur will likely close the financial year with zero profit, the deficit will depend on how many home games they will still be able to host. It is also not yet clear, how much money they will get out of marketing as of next year because the Swiss League will be doing its own marketing.

Furthermore, they will have to invest CHF 600,000 into a new video cube as well as TV screens at the food stands. CHF 450,000 they will pay themselves, the rest will be covered by Dr. Hermann Schmidhauser Foundation, the Canton of Zurich, and the City of Winterthur.

EHC Winterthur is also still looking for a new buyer for the naming rights of their arena. It's already clear that as of the 2022-23 season, the arena will no longer be called Zielbau Arena, however, who the new sponsor will be and how much they will be willing to pay remains to be seen.
