It might be due to his goal to play in Switzerland's highest league that forward Patrick Spannring has not yet signed a contract extension with Thurgau, the Thurgauer Zeitung speculates. In case Thurgau drops out of the playoffs, he might already get a shot with the SC Rapperswil-Jona Lakers, who have acquired his B-license.

The 29-year-old joined HCT at the beginning of the year, coming from the EBEL's Villacher SV. Since then, he has appeared in a total of 15 games, in which he recorded four points (one goal).
