Named "Le Nid des Aigles" (in English "Eagles' nest"), the new ice rink will be built in the commune of Lancy. Once completed - expected by 2028 - the new arena will replace the Vernets. It will have 8,500 seats and a 300-seat secondary rink.

As reported by RTS, a credit of 138 million Swiss francs has been earmarked for the construction of the infrastructure. An investment bill will be submitted to the Grand Council in July 2025, says Thierry Apothéloz. Despite the risk of opposition and a referendum, the member of the cantonal government is confident. "We're keeping our sights on the end of 2028 for the first game."
