"Everything in its own time. Right now, there are the World Juniors [to focus on]," Vincent Despont tells La Liberté. "After that, I will talk with my agent. I'm thinking of going back to Switzerland to play professionally. If that does not work out, I have the option of staying in Canada."
Despont, who is in his second QMJHL season with the St. John Sea Dogs, has, however, already garnered some interest from Swiss teams. According to the same source, EHC Kloten (he used to play for them from 2018 to 2021) and HC Fribourg-Gottéron (he also played junior hockey for them), have expressed their interest in him.
The defenseman has recorded three goals and five assists in 27 games for the St. John Sea Dogs this season.
