According to the Finnish news outlet Iltalehti, Rikard Grönborg is slated to become the new head coach of Tappara Tampere as of the 2023-24 season. Tappara is looking for a new coach as their current head coach Jussi Tapola announced that he would leave the team after the season.
While the news outlet reached out to Tappara's staff, they did not receive confirmation regarding their report. Blick, too, reported two hours later that, according to their information, Grönborg and the Liiga team have come to an agreement regarding a multi-year deal.
Grönborg has been with the ZSC Lions since 2019. It looks like his fourth season with the National League team will be his last.
