When it comes to Pelletier's future as head coach of HC Lugano, however, the dice have yet to be thrown. The contract of the 55-year-old Canadian and also those of his assistants Rob Cookson and Paul Di Pietro are set to expire at the end of this season.

"I haven't had any discussions with the club about next season and personally I prefer to stay focused on the present," Pelletier tells the Corriere del Ticino. "Every day I try to give my best for HC Lugano in order to be successful together with this team. What is important to me is that every player feels at ease to always give his best."

In an interview with 20 minuti at the beginning of February, HCL's team manager Hnat Domenichelli revealed that he contacted Chris McSorley during the Christmas period, however, that nothing else is imminent and a final decision about the head coaching position would be taken at the end of the season.
