Harijs Vitolins, 50, seems to be the favorite to win the race for the position of head coach in Davos. Unless there are unexpected developments, HC Davos will sign Vitolins in order to replace Arno Del Curto. In fact, only a few details remain to be taken care of. At the moment, Michel Riesen is coaching the team ad-interim.

Vitolins began his coaching career with the EHC Pikes Oberthurgau. After three years, he left for the KHL, where he spent ten years, winning two Gagarin Cups with OHK Dynamo Moskva as an assistant coach in 2012 and 2013. Internationally, he was also in the coaching staff of Latvia (from 2004 to 2011) and Russia (from 2013 to 2018), with which he won an Olympic gold medal in 2018 and the World Championships in 2014.
