The club's administrative board wants to modernize the club. Besides that, an import, a Swiss forward, and a defenseman are likely joining.

HC Thurgau intends to sign a second import player, and they are very close to doing so, as the club's president Thomas Müller tells the Tagblatt. It is likely going to be someone from the North. The addition of an experienced Swiss forward is also as good as done. On defense, Gian Janett is apparently close to signing with them, even though he would still be under contract with EHC Kloten for another year.

To modernize HC Thurgau, the administrative board intends to review the club's structures until the general assembly in August. They want to decide whether to keep engaging in the operative business or simply focus on strategic leadership, which is what an administrative board is supposed to do.

On the financial side, Thurgau will finish the season at a bearable loss. This is mostly caused by parts of the season still being affected by Covid. If not for their playoff success (made it to the semifinal), the support from sponsors and the city of Weinfelden, plus salary reductions, the financial loss would have been bigger.
