The season will kick off with a rematch of the last Swiss League playoff final, with the defending champion SC Langenthal hosting HC La Chaux-de-Fonds. For their first game back in the second highest league, HC Sierre will be on the road in Biasca, going up against the HCB Ticino Rockets. HC Ajoie will be facing off with the GCK Lions, HC Thurgau is looking to take on ECH Kloten and EHC Winterthur will play versus EHC Olten.
The two teams not in action on Friday are EHC Visp and EVZ Academy. The former have their first game on Saturday, September 14, against Kloten, whereas the latter's start to the season is on September 17 against Ajoie.
