On defense, three spots are currently available for next season, one of them presumably reserved for an import. There are questions about whether Norwegian Jonas Holøs will remain with the team. According to La Liberte, it is not very likely to happen because, as they state, Fribourg is in need of a defenseman able to orchestrate and improve the power play.

For the two remaining spots, one of them is going to either Sebastian Schilt or Ralph Stalder, and, as the source reports, the latter has better chances for contract renewal. The other will be going to a new addition "not named Yannick Rathgeb", the Dragons' team manager Christian Dubé says, as they are unable to afford their former defender.

On offence, there are three spots to fill with Swiss players. Flavio Schmutz is already in contract talks with the team. The 24-year-old says he has received some offers from different teams, but likes it in Fribourg and believes he can continue developing there. Other options are Tristan Vauclair, Makai Holdener and Sandro Forrer. Laurent Meunier's contract is also up at the end of the season, but he will be 40 years old in January.

Dubé is also still looking for additions up front, even though Gottéron is already out of the races for Gregory Hoffmann, Reto Suri as well as Fabrice Herzog.
