Sven Bärtschi and Nikolaj Ehlers did survive their teams' final roster cuts and it looks like they will start the season with the Vancouver Canucks and the Winnipeg Jets, respectively.

The Jets are technically still at 24 players, but the Winnipeg Free Press reports that Ehlers (as well as fellow rookies Nic Petan and Andrew Copp) will play in the season opener. As for the Canucks, they placed Corrado, Vey and Biega on waivers today and are now down to the 23-man roster limit.

While Sven Bärtschi, who was traded from the Calgary Flames to the Canucks during the last season, played the majority of the 2014-15 season in the AHL (30 points in 36 games for the Utica Comets), Ehlers was send back to junior last autumn and continued to dominate in the QMJHL (131 points in 65 games).
