Swiss League

HC Biasca has made good on their promise and submitted their application for the NLB to the SIHF yesterday. If their proposition is successful, the Ticino Young Stars would be able to play in the NLB in the 2016-17 season.

As Ticinonews reports, the committee of HC Biasca and the promoter group for the Ticino Young Stars, which will be the team in the NLB, have gathered the necessary paperwork and handed it in yesterday. According to the same source, the project should meet the league's requirements regarding the financial as well as the sportive side of things.

The goal of this team will not be an eventual promotion but to develop a system, where young talent out of Ticino under the age of 23 can grow. They also already have a designated head coach in Luca Cereda (current head coach of HC Biasca). The project is supported by HC Ambrì-Piotta, HC Lugano, HC Biasca and GDT Bellinzona. (mso)
