The 28-year-old forward is already a known commodity to head coach Christian Weber, as Spurgeon played for him, when he coached Austrian team Klagenfurter AC. If HCT will get his license until Friday, the Canadian will suit up against EHC Olten.

Tyler Spurgeon was an eight round pick of the Edmonton Oilers back in 2004. He last played for Ontario Reign in the ECHL, scoring ten points (two goals, eight assists) in twelve games. He is not new to European hockey though, as he played for the Austrian team Klagenfurter AC from 2010 until 2014, scoring 86 points (37 goals, 49 assists) in 136 games.
