The first rumors around this project emerged in October. Now, however, Zug confirmed that they already have submitted an application for their farm team. Furthermore, the financial means for this adventure (CHF 1.3 million) have been secured up until 2020.

The new team will be called "EVZ Academy" and should primarily be a place to develop their own hockey talents until they are about 23 years old. For the first few seasons however, Zug is aware that they will need to look for young players from other clubs as well.

Until the end of January, the National League will have decided whether or not they will accept Zug's application. (bsc)
