Apart from a three-year stint in North America, Julien Vauclair (photo) has played for HC Lugano since the 1997-98 season, when he joined the Bianconeri's U20 team. This season so far, the 36-year-old defender put up a total of six assists in 21 games.
Concerning the future of Steve Hirschi, as RSI journalist Paolo Laurenti reports, chances that the club is going to renew the contract of their 34-year-old Captain and defenseman are "as good as excluded".
Hirschi is currently in his thirteenth straight year with the Bianconeri and was able to score four points (one goal, three assists) since the start of the 2015-16 season. (rlu)
UPDATE HC Lugano officially confirms the two-year contract extension with Julien "Julio" Vauclair. The 36-year-old will thus be a Bianconero at least until the end of the 2017-18 season. (rlu) - 27 November 2015, 9:01 PM
