NLA - According to the Tampa Bay Times, the Tampa Bay Lightning are still interested in signing forward Reto Suri to an NHL contract. The problem? His contract with EV Zug.

This report confirms Reto Suri's statements that he made on RTS. Both sides are very much interested in an arrangement, but according to Steve Yzerman, general manager of the Lightning, they can not negotiate with the forward at this moment. But: "His agent is working with the club to see what they can do."

Another option for the 24-year-old forward would be to buy out his contract, which would not be ideal, to say the least. His agent, according to the Times, would not comment on the current standings of the ongoing negotiations.

This article conflicts a bit with what the Neue Luzerner Zeitung reported earlier this week. They reported that Suri now has an "out clause", but with conditions. Suri would be free to join an NHL franchise this summer, but he has to honor the last year of his contract with EV Zug, if he returns to Switzerland from now until 2017.

Furthermore, should Suri come back during the course of the season, he would have to finish that year with the EVZ at half of his salary and additionally fulfill the last full year of his contract afterwards. The forward has time to consider this offer until the Olympic break.

Reto Suri has scored 35 points in 43 games for EV Zug this season and has a valid contract with the team until 2015.
