Medical Report

mt_ignoreAs Genève-Servette HC announces, Daniel Rubin suffered a triple fracture of his cheekbone. He will return to Geneva today and will undergo further medical examinations by specialists.

Blick had reported earlier last night that the forward was to undergo surgery and would likely be out for the season.

Rubin suffered the injury through a charge by HC Fribourg-Gottéron’s Julien Sprunger in the 33rd minute of play and subsequently had to be brought off the ice on a stretcher. Sprunger was not penalised for his hit. Furthermore, Jeremy Wick suffered a foot injury in the same game, as Patrick Andrey (Yes FM) reports. (mso)

UPDATE As Chris McSorley tells Grégory Beaud (20 minutes/Le Matin), Rubin has left Fribourg's hospital this morning and is now in a hospital in Geneva. He will undergo surgery in the upcoming week. Furthermore, as McSorley told RSI, Rubin's season is almost certainly over. (mso) - 06 March 2016, 6:19 PM
