The 19-year-old center joined the Biancoblù last season and played mostly for their Elite A juniors. In 50 games for them, Valenza scored 15 goals and 12 assists. In one game with the HCB Ticino Rockets in the Swiss League, he remained off the score sheet.
Prior to his engagement with HC Ambrì-Piotta, the product of HC Lausanne's youth organisation spent one year in the North American 3 Hockey League where he scratched the ice for the Sugar Land Imperials.
