As HC Lugano announces, they have agreed to terms with Elvis Merzlikins on a two-year contract. He had originally one year left on his deal with the Bianconeri and will now stay until the end of the 2018-19 season.

The 22-year-old goaltender's deal does not contain an NHL and/or KHL out-clause, even though the young netminder had always emphasised on how his dream is to play in North America. Merzlikins, who was drafted by the Columbus Blue Jackets in 2014, will take part in the Jackets' development camp in the upcoming days. (mso)
