After having played almost 600 games in the NHL, the 32-year-old signed with GSHC last September. Despite the out-clause in Slater's contract, Genève-Servette HC's team manager and head coach Christ McSorley is confident that Slater will indeed stay in Geneva.

In his first season with the Grenats, Slater played 42 games in the NLA, scoring 18 goals and 15 assists. (bsc)
