Last week, the Corriere de Ticino reported that Giroux is no longer part of HCAP's plan for next season and that they won't extend his contract. Giroux now explains that the club has not informed him about this decision.

"I hope that there is still a chance that I can stay in Ambrì. As I have always told, Ambrì-Piotta is my priority and here, I would like to continue my career," the 34-year-old Canadian explains.

Giroux is currently in his third consecutive season in the Leventina and his contract is expiring at the end of this season. This term thus far, he has played 47 games for the Biancoblù, scoring 16 goals and 19 assists for a total of 35 points. (bsc)
