The 28-year-old forward had signed a two-year contract extension with Genève-Servette HC at the beginning of May. However, Rivera and head coach Chris McSorley allegedly got into a fight, which led the latter to put the forward on the market, as the Tribune de Genève reported last Saturday.
Chris Rivera has played his entire professional career with the Grenats, scoring 51 goals and 62 assists in 517 games. His new contract with Fribourg will run through 2017. He is in principle eligible to play tonight.(mso)
