Olympic Games

Besides the roster that was already leaked yesterday, their six additional players were also announced.

Canada's main roster for the 2022 Olympic Games will include four current players from the National League. HC Lugano's Daniel Carr, Genève-Serevette HC's Daniel Winnik, HC Fribourg-Gottéron's David Desharnais and the ZSC Lions' Maxim Noreau will all represent their country. The roster was accidentally leaked by the IIHF yesterday.

Mark Barberio will also be part of the roster. Under contract with Lausanne HC, the defenseman was loaned to the KHL's AK Bars Kazan until the end of the season.

To ease the impact of injuries and possible Covid-cases, teams are allowed to have an additional six players with them as a reserve. One of Canada's selected players for this is Fribourg's Chris DiDomenico.

As part of their preparation in Davos, the Canadian squad will play a game versus the Swiss national team on February 1 in Zug.
