Five National League players have the chance to make the roster for the tournament: goaltender Ivars Punnenovs (SCL Tigers), defenseman Nauris Sejejs (HC La Chaux-de-Fonds), and forwards Deniss Smirnovs (Genève-Servette HC), Kaspars Daugavins (SC Bern), and Ronalds Kenins (Lausanne HC).
The team will start their preparation process on January 24 and fly to Beijing on February 2.
