The Walliser Bote already announced in April that Nils Berger's contract with EHC Visp would not be extended. The forward had been with the Swiss League team for two seasons.

In 32 regular-season games for EHC Visp, Berger recorded two goals and nine assists. While he also appeared in playoff games for the Swiss League team, he did not manage to get his name on the scoresheet.
