With HCV Martigny and EHC Arosa being the only two teams of the MyHockey League interested in a promotion to the Swiss League, the semifinal series between the two clubs turned out to be putting the promotion up for grabs. HCV Martigny defeated EHC Arosa 3-0 in the series earning the possibility to play in the second tier of Swiss ice hockey once again.
As for EHC Arosa, their chances to play in the Swiss League next season are not over. Depending on what the HCB Ticino Rockets decide to do, they might still get promoted. Should the Rockets withdraw from the Swiss League, both Arosa and Martigny would be eligible for the promotion.
