As they tell Die Südostschweiz, the decision had not been easy. They now join Anja Stiefel, Florence Schelling, Christine Meier, and Sara Benz, who will also no longer play for Switzerland or have retired entirely from hockey.

Monika Waidacher suited up for Switzerland in six World Championships and in one Olympic tournament. Nina Waidacher played in three World Championships and in two Olympic tournaments.
