HC Lugano issued a statement about the issue in order to emphasize that the "sporting, administrative, and financial management of the Ladies Lugano Hockey Team is no longer under the control of Hockey Club Lugano and Hockey Club Lugano AG since the 2018-19 championship."
RSI reported earlier this week that the Ladies Lugano were in serious financial troubles as the new ownership did not fulfill its commitments to players, technical staff, and other service providers in recent months.
