Langenthal won the 2017-2018 Swiss Women's Hockey League B title. However, they did not wish to be promoted to the SWHL A. This is mainly due to their young team, as team manager Urs Kleeb notes: "The focus lays on the development and training of the young players, which can not be done on the same level in the highest league." because of that, they decided to engage in a cooperation with SWHL A's SC Reinach, which should give the clubs the chance to have their players play on their respective level and develop them properly.
