Four newly crowned champions, two finalists and two NHL-defencemen will join the national team for the camp in Weinfelden.

Patrick Fischer has cut netminder Gauthier Descloux (Genève-Servette HC), defencemen Yannick Rathgeb (Bridgeport Sound Tigers/AHL) and Christian Marti (ZSC Lions), as well as forwards Jason Fuchs (EHC Biel) and Samuel Walser (HC Fribourg-Gottéron) from the national team roster for the final week of preparation for the World Championship.

On the other hand, six players recently engaged in the Playoff Final, have been added. SC Bern-players Leonardo Genoni (net), Simon Moser, Gaëtan Haas and Tristan Scherwey (all forwards), as well as EV Zug-defenceman Raphael Diaz and forward Lino Martschini will all join the team. In addition, Nashville Predators-blueliner Roman Josi and Yannick Weber have gotten the green light and will also join. However, Washington Capitals-defender Jonas Siegenthaler has not received clearance from his club due to an injury.

Switzerland will face Latvia twice this week, on Friday, May 3, at 8:15 pm in Herisau and on Saturday, May 4, at 6:30 pm in Weinfelden.
